Within the factory, there is a seperate division which specialises in manufacturing the "Portacabins". Here, anything from site offices, labour camps, sea side chalets, ablution units and other temporary and semi-permanent constructions are produced to the clients requirments. Kharafi Steel's Portcabins are based on high quality heat pressed wall panels, polyurethane injected panels and can be fire rated. The company has supplied a large order of fire fightng shelters for the fire extinguishing teams working on the oil well fire in Kuwait (1991).

The factory is supported by an in-house experienced and competent design and detailing department which use 3-D strucad detailing programmes and Autocad systems.
